Hello Laguna Vista,

 

 

Library


I am so glad that the Library’s AC Unit was finally repaired, and we were able to reopen the library. The gross cost was $6,004. We still need to request from the manufacturer a warranty reimbursement of $2,000 for the compressor. Please be informed that the repair/replacement was for the newer of the two A/C Units. The contractor discovered that the older unit is not working, and it needs to be replaced as quickly as possible.

 

Adding to the dilemma, it turns out that both the repaired unit and older unit not working are discontinued. As such, both units need to be replaced at the same time. Preliminary estimated cost for replacing both units with the required modern units is between $25,000 and $30,000. This is an unforeseen expense for the Fiscal Year 2025 – 2026 Library’s budget. The cost would have to be paid by the Town’s fund balance.

 

In continuation with the Library, the Town Council will be appointing/reappointing the five library board members on October 14, 2025, Regular Council Meeting.

 

Emergency Ambulance Service


The Town Council will be approving the new annual contract with the Los Fresnos Ambulance Service Inc. for $28,800 on October 14, 2025, Regular Meeting. As many of you may be aware, Laguna Vista entered this contract to provide ambulance services for the Laguna Vista residents.
