The Laguna Vista Public Library invites the community to celebrate Día de los Muertos from October 26 through November 2.
This week-long celebration will feature cultural displays, traditional music, and interactive activities for all ages that honor the rich traditions of remembrance and family.
Beginning October 27, community members are encouraged to participate in the Library's Community Ofrenda by bringing a photograph or written memory of a loved one, including pets. The community-created ofrenda will serve as a meaningful tribute to those who have touched our lives.
The celebration will culminate on Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m., with a special cultural program featuring a video presentation and poetry reading by Dr. Manuel Medrano, a folklórico dance performance by Telpochcalli Grupo Folklórico, community ofrenda viewing, and additional cultural activities.
The event is free and open to the public. Join us as we honor cherished memories, celebrate cultural heritage, and come together as a community.
